Thanks to those who attended the Guides’ Macmillan coffee morning, or who contributed on Sunday morning. The total has passed £200, so congratulations to the Guides.
SINGING IN HEBREW AND GREEK
Last Sunday, Christopher from our congregation pointed out that we had just been singing a Hebrew word. So here are some Bible words (Old Testament in Hebrew or Aramaic, New Testament in Greek) which can be found in some of our songs.
All you have to do is look up which Bible references contain which word (2 examples of each).
What Psalm 23 is really all about
Ho ho ho
So, talking of sheep, Simon’s contributions this week have an animal-ish theme:
- A friend of mine tried to annoy me with bird puns, but toucan play that game.I wish I’d seen that female deer before it ran in front of me but I suppose hindsight is a wonderful thing.
- My other half asked me if I’d seen the dog bowl. I said “I didn’t even know he could play cricket!”
- I’m going to the Introvert Society annual fancy dress ball as a turtle. At least that way I won’t have to come out of my shell.
- My mate told me he just bought a magic dog from a guy in the pub. “What breed is it?” I asked him. “A Labracadabrador” he said.
